Collaboration with Disney for Great and Powerful OZ

This event was one of the most exciting events we have ever done. We collaborated with Disney for the film The Great and Powerful Oz.  DB Berdan designed 4 costumes to be shown in Somerset House LFW. I have done the styling of these 4 costumes.

It was a great honor to be the first Turks to get in to Disney's international press release.

Bubble gum Costumes For Pepsico

Assisting designer for 3 costumes made out of real Rocco bubble gums for Pepsico.

The costumes were very heavy but they smelled amazing!
The bubble gums are all sewed in with needles to give that beaded effect.

IKEA costume show by DB Berdan

For IKEA's textile year launch party in Istanbul DB Berdan has collaborated with them in order to create a costume show speacially made from IKEA's products.

For this particular show to be successful we have also built a giant set in order to set the costumes in place or even camouflage them.

This was the total set unfortunately I wasn't there to see it.

Growing Down (CSM Foundation)

This was my final project for CSM foundation. I wanted to draw attention to metamorphose from childhood to adulthood. For this I have made one caterpillar costume and a business suit that transforms into an ant.  The caterpillar was the representative of a child; playful, imaginative beyond beliefs and free minded. As it grows up gradually it looses its colors and becomes black and grey. Boring old business colors transforms it more and more into an ant which has the instincts to work and nothing else.

I wanted the costumes to be minimal.
Made the business suit to be transformable in to an ant .
I dragged a lot of attention while we were shooting the video

This was how I presented my work.

TV Dinner (CSM Foundation)

This project was based on the transformation of an object into a wearable costume. So I made TV costume which was based on subliminal messages.
I wanted the costume to be colorful and vibrant. I wanted to show people who watch TV are like flies that is attracted to the light that would electroshock them.

The dress also lights up and gives a strong silhouette in the dark.

Grotesque On The Outside Sweet and Humble On The Outside (CSM Foundation)

This costume was the very first costume that I have made in CSM foundation. My idea was to ask the question of  how correct is to judge someone by their appearance.
My vision was to make a snail like or even a hunchback look on the outside and have something colourful on the inside. It needed to look grotesque on the outside so I used brown PVC for the snail/hunchback jacket and I wore something colorful inside.
I performed outside as well but not in crowded areas.
